Hugo Ungewitter

Wiedenbrück, Deutschland, 1869 — 1947

The German painter Hugo Ungewitter (1869, Wiedenbrück – 1947) attended the Royal Prussian Art Academy in Düsseldorf in 1887. Ungewitter is principally known for his paintings depicting scenes of battle, military and hunting scenarios, realistic perspectives on nature, and various animals. In 1897, he was commissioned by the Düsseldorf Academy to paint historical paintings for the Count's Castle in Stotel. From 1906 onwards, he lived in Berlin and set his focus on painting battle scenes.
